Oh my god! I was just watching/listening to NASA TV when I heard that Shannon Lucid is capcom. Shannon freaking Lucid! For all you people who don’t know who she is, shame on you. lol Ok, seriously, she set American records for being in space while aboard the ISS when I was in high school. I might even still have those newspaper clippings from 1997. :-) Why is this awesome? I might get to meet her!!!! Never in a million years did I think this was possible. I mean, it never even occurred to me that I could meet someone who I admired 10 years ago. (Or 11, whatever lol) This is so amazing! Who else could I meet?
I also realized that, if they extend Atlantis yet another day, she’ll be coming back when I’m in Houston for my interview. Another super awesome thing to experience! (see how my vocabulary shrinks when I’m excited? lol)
Just had to geek out for a minute there. Back to the presentation. I would say it’s about 75% complete. But I want to be in bed by 10 so I better get in gear.
