I survived! My body has started to adjust so that the past two days weren’t nearly as difficult as the first two. I managed to get in my full 40 hours, while remaining sane and really not being bored yet. So, what have I learned?
I’ve learned that this company has serious communication issues. It took all week to get me into the system so I could fill out my time card. This isn’t uncommon, the lack of getting corporate to take care of things, which is a bit scary. I wonder if this is true for the whole company, or if the Austin office is just the red headed stepchild of the bunch. Oh well. In any case, it’s a job that I enjoy mostly, and that pays enough for now. We’ll see what happens in the future.
My arms are sore. Clay is a bitch to cut especially when it’s dry. Then it can pretty much kiss my ass! lol So I’m building strange muscles, which isn’t bad. I try to remind myself to at least lower my shoulders when I need to do things, which helps. I also remind myself to stand with good posture. Every so often I stretch my lower back too. Monday morning I’m going to the Chiropractor, however, because my neck has been off for a while and is starting to hurt. The nice part is that I can sleep for an extra hour and a half since it isn’t until 9. But then I’ll have to work later on other days to make up for those lost hours. oh well, it’s worth it to get things back in alignment.
It’s really easy to scare people at work. There are often few people around, so if you aren’t making a lot of noise while walking you scare people. Today I actually said “Jesus!” when Mike walked in when I was washing dirt. lol But in fairness I’ve scared quite a few people too. At some point I’ll use this to practice my sensing, but right now my focus is on posture and relaxing.
I learned my bank is only a few blocks away, and I’ve driven past it daily without realizing. It’s a large building behind trees, so it’s easy to miss. Oh, and they have suckers there. I was quite happy to leave the bank with a root beer dum dum, even though it meant I had just withdrawn $850 to pay up rent and late fees. lol Amazing how much a little sucker can do! I think I’m going to offer people candy when they come to pay for their recording sessions. Maybe they’ll forget the hundreds and thousands of dollars they paid us then. hehe
Oh, and I actually had a dream last night. It was another falling elevator dream, but this time I didn’t ride it down. I was in an elevator with some people I knew from high school or something. The door hadn’t closed yet, when I think I heard a little something and decided that was a bad sign. I jumped out, and other people jumped out, but one stayed behind. So I was then holding up the elevator and yelling at casey to get out. when she did, I let it go and it fell. Someone came to talk to us about it and I even mentioned that I’ve had many dreams about elevators falling. I also mentioned that my back actually felt better after helping with that. And I talked about how I saved people’s lives. Lol It was odd.
I think I then went to a hospital to get checked out or something, because I was wondering around trying to find things. I remember in one hallway were some awesome fossils and/or paintings. I was also going around trying to find a gown so I would look like a patient. Hmm…Unfortunately, can’t remember much else since it’s now been 12 hours since then. But at least I have adjusted my sleep schedule enough that my body knows it can dream at 6am and I’ll remember.
Other random things. I saw a guy riding a bicycle wearing only a thong. At least he was in good shape and tan, so it wasn’t completely repulsive. Only in Austin.
The other day, monday I think, I had a really bad night. I was quite angry and cried for a while. Anyway, while lying down I actually saw red. It’s really hard to describe this, since I saw it in my mind clearly, since my eyes were closed. But it was red. And actually a really pretty red. lol Not that I want to be angry or to see it again, but I was surprised that it would be a pretty red when the state I was in was far from pretty. So that was interesting.
I’m waiting on pizza from papa johns. Carrie has decided we’re boycotting dominos, which feels weird to me, having worked there, but it has to do with the owner’s politics. Right now she’s sleeping, because she’s been feeling really bad lately. Hopefully the pizza will sit well enough. But it was a good deal, and I’m too tired to think of cooking, and Carrie can’t either. And hey, it’s better than burger king again. I think I’m going to just sit here and relax for a bit. I’m quite tired.
