I got a job!

Woohoo!!!  I start monday at CTL Thompson.  I’ll work in the lab at first, learning to identify soils and test them along with testing asphalt and concrete occasionally.  As I learn more I’ll get to do some field work and learn the engineering side of things.  We managed to agree to a wage that is high enough to survive, and cheap enough for them to take me on even though they aren’t looking.  In time I’ll renegotiate as I am doing more than just a lab tech.

So, here’s my crazy job setup.  I’ll work full time at CTL Thompson.  On Monday and Wednesday I work at ACC from 4 to 10, making long days.  But it’s an easy job and it allows me to get Jedi stuff done.  In my spare time I’m still doing contract work, trying to get one done each day.  They are $50 a pop, so that helps a lot.  Then I’m doing mentoring for online tutoring.  I got my first mentee today.  They’ll add people slowly so I have time to adjust.  But they figure it should only take an hour a week for each mentee, so that isn’t a big time commitment.   Since that’s another thing I can schedule at any time, it’s easy to do.  Between all of this, we will be perfectly fine by the end of October when we have to move.  This should also keep the landlords off our back about eviction.

So, now I need to shower and eat because I have to leave for work in an hour.  This is such a relief!  Remind me of this when I’m getting up at 6 am though.  lol
