So, it’s starting to look like our best option is to drive to Indiana for spring break. Carrie’s mom needs to have another neck surgery to correct the mistakes on the second one, and will need help. And even though she has one of the best husbands in the world, it’s always nice to have help. At first I was thinking Carrie could just fly home, but realistically it would cost less to drive up.
Today I got my timing belt, regular belts, and water pump replaced, so that part of my car shouldn’t be a problem for a long time. Plus, they patched up the hole in my gas tank. The only thing left is to change my headlight, change the oil, and reconnect the wire to the hazard lights and my car is as good as new.
I think it will handle the drive just fine, especially if we do it in two days and crash at Brett’s place. It’s pretty handy having a friend live almost exactly half way between here and Indiana! Too bad we didn’t realize she lived there when we did this last time. That hotel bed was horrible! Plus, we’ll bring our own air mattress I think so it won’t be too uncomfortable. And we can finally chat for a bit. She was in town for a few days but our schedules didn’t line up. That’s just the way it works sometimes though.
It’s going to be a very busy weekend coming up, but if I do everything I need to, next week should be very managable
Only three weeks until spring break. Though, spring break will still involve tutoring and writing my thesis, along with grading I’m sure, and some geology homework. But I have enough time to do it. Plus, any road trip is good, especially when you get to help people out.
