Temperature Limits

Before this week, I’ve handled the weather this summer pretty well.  Not excessively tired or cranky.  But I’ve found my limit.  This high 90’s is just not working for me.  I’m tired in the afternoon.  And the worst part is our poor air conditioner can’t handle the heat.  It never drops below 80 during the day (inside) and takes hours at night to finally drop to 75.  It’s constantly working, which means bad things for our electric bill.  The thing is either losing steam, or it just isn’t powerful enough, which sucks.  It’s not like I want it at 68 degrees, I’m happy at 75, but it doesn’t get there until midnight or so.  It’s sad.  I don’t think we’ll renew our lease here next year…it’s not worth it for the cooling cost.  Or the inconsistent water temperatures (how hard is that anyway?!).  Or the parking problems.  Hopefully we’ll be able to move into something that will be even better.  But that’s 10 months away, and there are many many other things to worry about before then.

I only have tomorrow left before my advisor returns, so I better get working on some research.  Unfortunately it’s all newer stuff, and takes more time to think through, which isn’t as fun.  I also need to write the paper and start on the presentation for next week.  Perhaps I’ll just do that instead.  Hmm…
